WHAT TO BUY

These brands/products are what I prefer to buy:

BREADS & WHOLE GRAINS

Any whole grain bread that is high in fiber and low in sugar content is the best to buy!  Oroweat's "health full" 10 grain bread has the best STATS:

Nutritional Highlights:

  • 5g of protein
  • 8g whole grains per serving
  • No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
  • 5g of fiber per serving

CEREAL


Oatmeal - Steel Cut Oats or Quaker Regular Oats; Oatmeal is one of the BEST options for breakfast; I love it with frozen blueberries or a sliced banana, cinnamon and a little bit of honey.  I use King Soopers brand of Almond Milk.


Cold Cereal - Anything high in fiber and low in sugar; One of my favorites is Kashi GoLean Berry Crunch.





PASTA

Dreamfields brand is one of the best options for pasta dishes; it has a low "carb/sugar" count and I cannot tell a difference in the taste!! 




WRAPS / PIZZA

Flat-Outs are my FAVORITE for Sandwich Wraps. 
Mission White Corn Tortillas are great for tacos, enchiladas, etc.

ALMOND MILK 
I personally like to buy King Soopers/Kroger brand "Simple Truth" of Almond Milk (Unsweetened) because it's cheaper, and I actually like the taste better than the name brands!

Creamer


In the beginning of your journey to lose weight, if you are really trying to cut out the sugar, then drink coffee plain or with Half n' Half.still drink coffee in the mornings, and I think the best creamer available is CoffeeMate's Natural Bliss Creamer.  Flavors include Caramel, Vanilla, Chocolate and Sweet Cream (my fav!).





PROTEIN / MEATS
  • Lean Ground Beef or Ground Turkey (96% Lean, 4% fat) - 
  • Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts - Grilled or Baked
  • Turkey Bacon or Turkey Sausage



CONDIMENTS



I LOVE Barney Almond Butter on Whole Wheat Toast or an English Muffin for my mid-morning snack!  You can also add it to a smoothie for extra protein.  If you prefer regular peanut butter, I buy Jiffy All-Natural or King Sooper's brand of "Simple Truth" peanut butter.








Polaner "All Fruit with Fiber" is my favorite jam for toast or English muffins.



Always look for ketchup with NO High Fructose Corn Syrup.  I buy Simply Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
